Some kind of bug infested our house. Either no-see-ums or mites. Whatever it was drove me crazy! Out of desperation, I tried this UV light, and it is the only thing that has helped us. It took about a week of moving the light throughout our house to see a difference. Then another couple of weeks to feel bug-free. I usually run it for an hour, let the light cool, move it to another spot in the room, and run it for another hour. After running the UV light, I open a window and turn on my air purifier. Every room needs a good amount of time to cycle the UV air out. (The smell in the air is the only downside for me.) I'm also careful about moving our houseplants to another room so they aren't affected by the UV light. I'm not getting random bites anymore. Thank goodness! However, I do still run my UV light as a preventative measure. Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase.

I had dust mites in my living room since new foam was used in a chair cushions. Every night after spending 1/2 hour in my living room my nose would start to run like crazy. Then I heard about this UV light.I used it once for 1/2 hour (no ventilation required after use) and now the dust mites are gone. I can spend at least 3 hours in my living room without a hint of a runny nose. Mari, the customer service person, is extremely helpful and reminded me that I had to remove the plastic tab from the remote control for it to work. If you have dust mites this product is extremely easy to use and does the job after one use.
